In a country like India where the penetration of English language is only 5% and education is being taught predominantly in local languages, non-availability of software in ones native language will have a direct impact on the society as a whole. Therefore a need arises for localisation in Indian languages and with a properly localized product, a user can interact with this product using his/her own language and cultural conventions. It also means that all user-visible messages and all user documentation (printed and electronic) use the language and cultural conventions of the user.
